Posted Dec. 20, 2002 Week 10 Boys basketball: Lance Den Boer Sunnyside Christian senior went over the 2,000-point plateau for his career -- the 20th Washington boy to achieve that milestone -- scoring 36 points in a season-opening win Tuesday over Kittitas. He scored 93 points in three games to reach 2,084 for his career. Wrestling: Tyler Hartsteen Hermiston senior won five matches, including a 3-1 victory over University's Jacob Bouge in Saturday's final of the Tri-State tournament. Hartsteen (9-0) scored a takedown with two seconds left to defeat Bouge. Girls basketball: Leilani Mitchell Kennewick senior scored 21 points in the Lions' come-from-behind victory over Wenatchee on Friday, then scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting Saturday in a victory over Kamiakin. Boys swimming: Travis Parker Walla Walla senior swam a state-qualifying time of 53.94 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly in a Big Nine dual meet Wednesday.
